in 2017, i wrapped my very first crystal.
it was a little sunstone pendant, loosely wrapped, uneven, and far from perfect. i spent hours trying to understand the cord, untangling knots, and starting over more times than i could count.
what a beautiful new world of craft and art that i discovered.
i fell in love with the quiet rhythm of creating. the gentle click of gemstones as they gathered together. the feeling of natural hemp cord weaving smoothly through each bead. the patience it required. the presence it invited.
what began as simple curiosity slowly became a passion for creation that i practiced almost every single day.
my first business was called bloom earth creations, named after my firstborn son. that season was filled with wonder ~ crafting nearly every day, learning through trial and error, and discovering what it meant to build something from the heart.
as life changed, so did the business.
when my second child was born, it became naluna, a name inspired by my son's middle name (nalu) and my daughter's first name (luna). those years were spent creating during nap times, packing orders between diapers and bedtime routines, and sharing my work at local art festivals while raising two little ones.
then came a different season.
for nearly three years, i didn't touch a single bead.
there were no cords to knot, no crystals to wrap, no afternoons spent creating. instead, there was slowing down. intentional motherhood. growth that happened quietly. a season of rediscovering myself, finding clarity, and remembering who i was becoming beneath all the roles i carried.
and somewhere along the way, i found my way back.
back to the gemstones.
back to the cord.
back to creating with my hands.
today, nalu mala represents more than a new name. it carries every season that came before it ~ the beginnings, the growth, the stillness, and the return.
it reflects a new vision, a deeper intention, and the woman i've become through each chapter.
every mala is still handcrafted one knot at a time using natural gemstones, thoughtfully chosen materials, and countless quiet moments of presence. my hope is that when one finds its way into your hands, it feels like more than jewelry.
